In the 18th century, something mysterious was going on in the underground of a little, remote village. Some skeletons seem to have congregated to celebrate Halloween in a hidden bar which can only be entered through a secret door from the crypt next to it. And centuries have passed since the last human being has been there, so no one will bother the skeletons. Only the vampire in its coffin may want to come, but he is of course invited to join! The lava flows as a dancing group tries to entertain the more or less tipsy community.

Above, nobody could imagine what’s going on there. The villagers live their tranquil life without many worries. Oh, did I say «tranquil»? Normally that’s true, but today something seems to have interrupted their everyday life. Or rather, someone. Several monsters appear to be wanting to frighten our honest villagers, just on Halloween while they have put on some costumes. Who is friend, who is foe? Who inhabits the stone house with the thatched roof, who the wooden inn – and who has escaped the overgrown cemetery? Will you be brave enough to solve the mystery?

The model consists of 4131 parts and 26 minifigures (yes, indeed!). You may either download the two files with low-resolution building instructions or the four files with the high-resolution ones.

Features include:

 

• A modular base to connect to other models
• The watchtower is surrounded by classic horror elements: a pond, cornfield, run-down path and a suggestion of a cave formation
• A generator located at the base with the ability to add wires to ‘fix’ it. The generator is attached to a string which doubles as an electricity cable- this can be attached to the top of the watchtower
• Ladders inside the watchtower allowing everything to be accessible for minifigures.
• Removable sections: a removable floor, top and sides.
• Choice of base: this model can be built on a 32×32 baseplate, 4 16×16 technic bricks or 4 16×16 plates
• A concealed light-brick to light up the outpost

Unfortunately, the four orange triangular tiles used on the face do not exist.

The 2×8 plates in orange are also very expensive. All of them can be partially replaced by two of 2×4 plates. Just like the two 4×4 plates.

What could a Harry Potter and LEGO lover could create? Well… let’s find out together. As a Ravenclaw, I will find a way to create magic using my wits.

 

This model was inspired by Hagrid’s Hut in preparation to celebrate Nearly-Headless Nick’s birthday and Halloween at Hogwarts. I played with some elements found in the book and used the ENGORGIO! charm to grow extra big pumpkins (shhhh…). This set is an addition to LEGO set Hagrid’s Hut (#75947). Check the other inspired Harry Potter ideas on my site. More models to come inspired in the books and movies!

 

As usual, I try to keep the bricks as simple and as affordable as possible, unless is totally crucial for the model.
